Cricket Betting at jitben — Bet on BPL, IPL and International Matches
From T20 to Test, from BPL to the T20 World Cup — jitben gives you the chance to bet on every moment of every match. Match winner, toss, top batsman — put your analysis to work in the market of your choice.
Three Cricket Formats and Popular Competitions
To understand cricket betting, it helps to know the formats first, because the style and pace of betting differs across each one.
T20 is the fastest format — a match ends in just 20 overs, every ball counts, and odds shift quickly. For cricket fans in Bangladesh, BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) and IPL are the most familiar T20 tournaments. Bangladesh Tigers' T20 World Cup matches also fall in this category.
ODI, or one-day cricket, gives each team 50 overs. The pace is comparatively slower, which means more room to analyse markets like total runs or top batsman. Major events like the ICC Champions Trophy or the World Cup are played in ODI format.
Test cricket is a five-day game — the longest and most tactical format. A draw is possible in Tests, so the betting market has three outcomes: Team A wins, Team B wins, or a draw. You can adjust your betting approach inning by inning.
Cricket betting is somewhat different from football and other sports. In football, results are known within 90 minutes and goal-count markets are straightforward. In cricket, the over-by-over flow of events is far more variable, which makes live betting particularly interesting here. At jitben, you can bet on football as well as cricket.
Popular Markets for Cricket Betting at jitben
Each market calls for a different betting approach. Below are seven common markets with brief examples — the numbers are for illustration only and are not real odds or guaranteed outcomes.
| Market | Description and Example |
|---|---|
| Match Winner | The simplest market — pick which team will win. In T20, either side can turn the game around at any point, so odds keep shifting until the last moment. Example: in a Team A vs Team B match, if you pick Team A and Team A wins, you win the bet. |
| Toss Winner | Bet on the outcome of the toss before the match starts. It is a completely independent event, so the odds for both teams are usually roughly equal. Example: pick either Team A or Team B. |
| Top Batsman | Predict which batsman from a given team will score the most runs in the innings. Example: which batsman from Team B will finish top — if the batsman you picked scores the most runs, you win the bet. |
| Total Runs Over/Under | Bet on whether the total runs in the match will be above (over) or below (under) a set number. Example: if the line is set at 320 runs — a total of 321 or more wins the over, 319 or fewer wins the under. |
| Over of First Wicket | Predict in which over the first wicket will fall. Teams usually play aggressively during the powerplay, which makes this market particularly interesting. |
| Multi Bet | Combine multiple selections into a single bet. If all selections are correct you get a larger return; if even one is wrong you lose the entire bet. As an example: if three selections have odds of 1.40, 1.50, and 1.90, the combined odds are 1.40 × 1.50 × 1.90 = approximately 3.99 — a ৳100 bet returns ৳399 if all win, but if one loses the full ৳100 is gone. |
| Handicap Betting | When there is a strength difference between two teams, the weaker team is given a run advantage. The final result is determined by adding that advantage — you can understand this market without any complex calculations. |

How to Read Decimal, Fractional and American Odds
Odds are written in three different formats. All three express the same probability — only the way they are written differs. Below, two examples using the same value make this clear.
Example 1 — Team A to win (৳1,000 bet)
Decimal 2.50 = Fractional 3/2 = American +150
If the bet wins, return is ৳2,500 (৳1,500 profit + ৳1,000 original stake). If the bet loses, ৳1,000 is gone.
With decimal odds, simply multiply your stake directly: ৳1,000 × 2.50 = ৳2,500.
Example 2 — Team B to win (favourite)
Decimal 1.80 = Fractional 4/5 = American -125
A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,800 (৳800 profit).
American minus odds show how much you need to stake to win ৳100.
A simple rule: decimal odds close to 1.00 mean a favourite (higher chance of winning, lower profit); a larger number means an underdog (lower chance of winning, higher profit). Decimal format is the most commonly used in cricket betting.
In-Play Betting — Odds Shift with Every Wicket and Over
Live or in-play betting means placing bets while the match is in progress — not before it starts. This makes cricket betting the most dynamic, because odds change with every event on the field.
What happens when a wicket falls?
When an important wicket falls for the batting team, that team's odds of winning immediately lengthen (meaning their probability drops), while the fielding team's odds shorten (their probability rises). The effect is even greater when more runs are needed off fewer balls.
What happens at the end of an over?
After each over, the system recalculates odds based on the run rate and the overs remaining. If a lot of runs are scored in an over, the batting team's odds shorten noticeably.
Powerplay and Death Overs
The most movement happens during the first six overs (powerplay) and the last four overs (death overs). Odds in the live market shift very quickly during these periods.
When markets close
Some markets close at a set point — for example, the toss market closes just before the match starts. Before placing an in-play bet, check that the relevant market is still open.

Some Tips for Keeping a Clear Head in Cricket Betting
Betting is a form of entertainment — a few simple habits help you enjoy it. There is no strategy that guarantees profit, but there are ways to keep yourself in check.
Set a budget and stick to it
Decide in advance how much you will bet each day or each week. If you lose, avoid placing larger bets to try to win it back.
Get to know one market well
Focusing on two or three markets is more effective than spreading bets across all of them. Starting with straightforward markets like match winner or total runs is a good approach.
Keep an eye on pitch and weather conditions
Whether the pitch favours pace or spin, and whether the weather is clear or cloudy — this information is useful when betting on markets like total runs or wickets.
Keep the number of selections in a multi bet low
Adding more selections to a multi bet increases the combined odds, but the chance of all of them winning together drops quickly. Keep it to two or three selections.
Do not bet on emotion
If your favourite team is losing, avoid placing a large bet mid-match to try to "fix" the situation. Live betting creates pressure to decide quickly — make decisions with a clear head.
Follow responsible betting practices
If betting starts to cause problems beyond entertainment, it is time to take a break. The responsible gaming guide can help you set the right limits.
